Hi!
Have you double checked if the layer you’re working with isn’t locked? You’re trying to make your background transparent right? Usually your background solely turns white if you’ve locked your layer or converted it into a background layer, which looks like this:

If you press the lock icon on the right, it should appear like this:

Now it’s just a regular layer, and if you’ve already removed the background like I have: Don’t worry, just use your magic wand tool to cut out the white area!
This often happens to me too. I often forget to unlock the first layer before making any image file transparent. That’s why you always gotta make sure you check this first, before making any changes.
